LaTeX, live, on your laptop.
Code on the left, your PDF on the right, rebuilt as you go. No compile timeouts, no upgrade button, and your thesis never leaves your computer.
LaTeX is a free extension: open the Store in Synomy and add it. Start from an article, a report with chapters, a Beamer deck or a blank page.
Record the lecture. Get every word.
Typed out on your laptop while the professor talks, every voice told apart. The audio never leaves your computer.
Mark up every paper.
Highlight any PDF and write on it, formulas included. The PDF itself stays exactly as it was.
Find it the night before the exam.
Ask in your own words. Synomy brings back the note that meant it, even when you wrote it differently.
Revise with your eyes closed.
Synomy reads your notes aloud in a natural voice, made on your own computer. Each line lights up as it's read.
Read aloud is a free extension in the Store.
Group projects, minus the chaos.
Everyone on one page at once, live, laptop to laptop. See who's where and what they're writing.
Free.
Not a trial.
Not a student discount that ends when you graduate.
Synomy runs on your own computer, so it costs nothing to keep going. Every feature is free, for everyone, for good.
Before you ask.
How can it be free?
Your own computers do the work, so there are no servers to pay for. Every feature in the app is free, for everyone. If a paid plan ever comes, it pays for servers that deliver your changes more dependably, and the free app keeps everything it has.
Do I need an account or a student email?
No. Download it and start writing. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to verify.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Writing, searching, typing out a lecture and compiling LaTeX all happen on your laptop. LaTeX fetches a package once, the first time a document uses it. Changes reach your group the next time you're online.
Who hears my lectures?
Your own computer. The recording is typed out right there, and the sound never leaves it. Anything that sends text to an AI service, like a written summary, works only once you connect one with a key of your own.
What happens to my notes after I graduate?
They stay yours. Every page is a plain Markdown file in a folder you picked, so any text editor opens it, today or in twenty years.

Free, ready in a minute, and still yours after you graduate. Bring your study group: it gets better with more.
